Group Visits and Tours

Timespan warmly welcomes groups to our museum and we provide guided tours of our museum display, the historic fishing village of Helmsdale and 6000 years of Kildonan history including The Highland Clearances.

Timespan work closely with teachers and schools to develop engaging learning opportunities which support the Curriculum for Excellence. We have a wide range of sessions for pupils in P1-7 and S1-6, and provide teaching resources and notes exploring key discussion points and themes.

Please inform us in advance of group visits of more than 10 people. This will ensure you have the best experience and we can apply concessionary admission prices. Please call 01431821327 or email enquiries@timespan.org.uk with details of your visit.

Group Supervision and Safety

Adult supervision is required at all times with the following adult-to-student ratios:

• 1:5 for under 5s
• 1:10 for 6–11 year-olds
• 1:15 for 12–16 year-olds
• 1:20 for 16–18 year-olds

Please note that teachers are responsible for students’ behaviour and safety at all times. We can help you complete a health and safety risk assessment prior to your visit.
