Timespan free art programme brings the best of national and international contemporary art to the Highlands through temporary exhibitions and public events. Our seasons often take local histories and concerns as a starting point, activating and exploring them through art to draw national and global connections. Previous seasons included exhibitions about the Herring Girls, land and labour justice, energy transition in Scotland, and the colonial ties linking the Highlands to the transatlantic slave trade. Our annual festivals have been bringing together artists, creatives, heritage scholars, and activists to create enriching conversations exploring art as a space for social justice.
