Walter Rodney Library

The library is based on Eric and Jessica Huntley’s West Ealing Walter Rodney Bookshop, and the publications – spanning theory, poetry, fiction and children’s books – reflect the politics of the radical black tradition, internationalism, the British anti-racist struggle and imperialism. The majority of the titles are from independent radical Black publishers – Bogle L’Ouverture, New Beacon Books and Hansib Publications.

The library is open 7 days a week and includes a seating and research area. All books included in the Walter Rodney Library are free to borrow. Each book can be taken for a maximum of 3 weeks and only 1 book can be borrowed at a time.

The library is being donated to Acklam Village in North Kensington, a community space which was taken on by the community after Grenfell, so all books must be returned at agreed date.
