Timespan’s studio-flat is in the old toll house adjacent to Timespan looking over the river Helmsdale, Telford Bridge and the centre’s herb and flower garden. It is available to rent for artists, researchers, historians or anyone looking for a relaxing break by the sea!
Converted in 2008, the flat has a bright, sunny, open plan live/work area; including desk with internet connection, large work/dining table and fully-equipped kitchen; shower room/wc; washing machine, wifi. Sleeps two in comfort: twin/double bedroom (and convertible sofa in the living area).
The river Helmsdale flows from the Strath of Kildonan, famous for being at the heart of the Clearances and the site of an 18C gold-rush – you can still pan for gold! Surrounded by superb Highland landscapes rich in flora and fauna, it is on the edge of the flow country, and the area has many historic sites including early settlements and landmarks.
