Our Archive Development Project is transforming Timespan’s treasure trove of information into an accessible and engaging place of research and ensuring its future preservation.
For the past two years we have been cataloguing and digitising our archive. Now we have opened a new open-plan archive discovery space: a welcoming, accessible space where visitors can delve into our records, undertake research, and help us to better understand our heritage.
We have also created a new temperature and humidity controlled store so that our archive has the best chance of being preserved for future generations.
Are you interested in history, old photographs, or archiving? Come and explore our archive and get involved in the project. We offer training and the opportunity to work closely with some of the lesser-known aspects of our local history. Tasks that we need extra help with include cataloguing items and small pieces of research on people and places. No prior experience of archiving is necessary. Email Jo for more information.
