ARTIST TALK & VILLAGE PARADE: thulhu thu thu, before the sun harms you: knowbotiq in conversation

Friday 11 October 2019

1800: Artist in Conversation over collective raffia knotting & molecular/nuclear inspired food & drinks
1830: David Alston talk on Sutherland's colonial history and its impact on landscape, land ownership and use
1900: Parade through the village

Artists knowbotiq (Yvonne Wilhelm, Christian Huebler) will introduce their project thulhu thu thu, before the sun harms you, and relate it to their ongoing practice which tests how art can open up different imaginaries to understand the multiple and complex ideological and environmental injustices and violence contained within a landscape.

A factory line of participatory raffia weaving is encouraged, and we’ll serve nuclear inspired drinks & pizza.

After the talk, we’ll collectively parade the raffia-braided undefined through the village, its movement along the streets led by a series of recorded incantations.
