Join us for an archival presentation by Esther Macdonald, crofter, and local historian looking at the settlement history of Portgower and how it came into being at the start of the nineteenth century. This wonderful journey into the past takes in the area’s archaeology, from Post-Medieval agricultural settlement to the creation of the former fishing village at the time of the Highland Clearances, its connections to the Land League, and how the area still supports traditional crofting and crofters.
