Saturday 7 September 2024
11 am to 1 pm

Timespan Community Cinema is excited to present its next screening on September 7th from 11 am to 1 pm. Join us for our ongoing series of free screenings that highlight the stark realities of the climate crisis.
This screening selection will include:
Crofter’s Life in Shetland, 1931, 46mins
St. Kilda – Britain’s Loneliest Isle, 1923 & 1928, 18mins
Evacuation of St. Kilda, 1930, 11mins
These films illustrate the sustainable crofting lifestyle in remote islands and the cultural connections that supported these communities through changing climate, land injustices, and the upheaval of evacuation and relocation. The journey from Glasgow to St. Kilda includes scenes of the Western Isles, the life of the farmers on St. Kilda, and their evacuation in 1930.
