Linked with the exhibitions at Timespan is the Timespan Gallery Education Programme. The Programme has three elements: The Timespan Education Resource Pack (for use by teachers visiting the centre with their school groups), a workshop scheme whereby a professional artist can be booked to run a classrooom workshop and educational activities and information for children and adults visiting the gallery.

Many of our visiting artists provide activities in our new wet workshop space and can visit the schools directly. Where possible tours of the gallery will be delivered by one of the artists involved in the exhibition. We also take our arts education programme out into the environment using buildings like the Ice House and the landscape around us. The renovation of the Ice House was instigated by our youth arts group and we are very interested in schools joining us as collaborators and/or contributors on future projects. We aim to work with our local youth on developing gallery interpretation and often show children’s work around the building.
